Design of Technical Systems, Applications, and Services
The Phoenix is a kinetic battery designed to replace AA batteries in low-powered consumer devices (e.g., a TV remote). The Phoenix recharges itself when shaken and holds its charge for a period of time that is usable. It's form factor is identical to that of a standard AA battery.

The Phoenix generates energy through both induction and piezoelectric force. A cylindrical magnet within the battery passes through an inductance coil and strikes piezoelectric materials at the ends. Combined with an efficient energy storage system, the Phenix stores sufficient power for basic operation of a low-powered device.
